Authors & Contributors
The people behind VinSpecs guides: our editorial team and the contributing automotive writers we work with.
Four professional automotive writers contribute to VinSpecs alongside our editorial team, which fact-checks and publishes every guide against the official U.S. government sources cited on each page. Meet them below.

Contributing Writers
Profile copy and links are the writers' own public biographies. Where a contributor's byline appears on a specific guide, the guide's author line names them directly.
Editorial standards
- Every data point on VinSpecs carries its source: NHTSA vPIC (specs, recalls), NHTSA NCAP (crash-test ratings), EPA / FuelEconomy.gov (MPG, emissions), SAE J2012 (OBD-II codes), or a dated market snapshot with its sample size stated.
- Guides lead with the answer, then show the numbers behind it — no invented statistics, no unlabeled estimates.
- Financial-topic guides are information, not financial advice, and say so on the page.
- Mistakes get corrected on the page with the corrected date visible. Tell us when you spot one.
Who writes the guides on VinSpecs?
Contributing automotive writers lead the byline on each guide; the VinSpecs Editorial Team researches, fact-checks and publishes every piece against the official sources listed on the page.
Who are the contributing writers?
Andrew Ganz, Brett T. Evans, Ronald Montoya and Nick Yekikian — professional automotive journalists whose bylines appear across Car and Driver, Edmunds, MotorTrend, Motor1, Hagerty and Autoblog. Profiles and links to their own channels are on this page.
How is content reviewed before publication?
Each guide pairs an answer-first summary with the underlying government data point for every claim, states sample sizes where medians are used, and carries a visible sources line.
